Donna Huber

Donna Joanne Huber, 85, of Fairbury passed away at 6:50 am on Aug. 14 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community in Fairbury.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury, with ministers of the church officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Forrest. Burial will follow services in the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Community or the Salvation Army.

Donna Joanne was born Dec. 27, 1930 in Strawn a daughter of Charles and Flossie (Sheppard) Kuntz. She married Jesse Richard Huber on January 30, 1954 in Fairbury. He passed away on Jan. 9, 2011.

She is survived by two sons; Richard (Dawn) Huber and Keith (Susan) Huber, both of Fairbury, two daughters; Christa (Verle) Sauder, Hancock, Minn., Ann (Keven) Hofstetter, Washington; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; one brother: Dale (Helen) Kuntz of Pekin; and one sister-in-law: Donna Kuntz of Morton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, one brother: Donald Kuntz; and one sister: Doris Shilts.

Donna Joanne was a 1948 graduate of Strawn High School. She did clerical work, owning and operating J.R. Electric together with her husband, Jesse, from 1972- 1993.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Fairbury since 1957.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn June Monroe, 76, of Colfax, passed away at 3:06 a.m., Aug. 13, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Pastor Edward Huddelson will be officiating.

Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or Central Illinois Small Animal Rescue.

Marilyn was born Jan. 20, 1940, in Bloomington, the daughter of Alvin and Evelyn Kieper Beecher.

She married James Monroe on Feb. 12, 1960. He survives.

Also surviving are her sons, Kenneth Monroe of Pontiac and Kerry (Stephanie) Monroe of Broken Arrow, Okla.; son-in-law, Mark Wiewel of Quincy; grandchildren, Caroline Wiewel, Anthony Wiewel, Amber Monroe, Stephanie Wiewel, Kyle Monroe, Matt Wiewel, Tyler Goggans, Mark Wielwel, Madison Monroe; brother Donald (Jeanne) Beecher of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Wiewel.

Marilyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chenoa.
