Galen Haren

Galen W. Haren, 73, of Cullom, Ill. passed away at 9:28 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Gilman, Ill.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Forrest United Methodist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017 at the church. Private family inurnment will be held at Sullivan Center Cemetery in rural Cullom at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cullom Junior Fair or the Forrest United Methodist Church.

Galen was born September 19, 1943 in Streator, Ill., a son of Rollo and Alice (Kramer) Haren. He married Joan Augsburger on August 4, 1963 at Charlotte River Church. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Lynne Feldkamp of Cullom, Leslie (Ken) Haren- Friesz of Fountain, Colo., and Agga (Jolene) Haren of Albuquerque, NM; six grandchildren: Kyle (Taylor Clark) and Katelyn Feldkamp, Joshua (Jamylia) Haren, Breanna Daniel, Dalen Friesz, Jeremy Haren; one great grandson: Khai Haren; two sisters: Donna (Gerald) Buckler of Pontiac, Ill. and Marjorie Hahn of Cullom, Ill., three step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Philip Haren, and one brother-in-law: Bob Hahn.

Galen was educated at Charlotte River School thru eighth grade then going to Cullom High School. He farmed his whole life. He enjoyed farming, showing pigs, and the Cullom Junior Fair.

He was a member of the Forrest United Methodist Church, Cullom Junior Fair Association, and Tri-Point FFA Alumni Association.

Carole Ault

Carole J. Ault, 81 of Bloomington, Ill., passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 8:46 a.m. at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, Ill.

Carole’s memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Rev. Ric Schneider and Rev. Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Bloomington.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is helping the family with cremation rites.

Carole was born on March 27, 1936 in Bloomington, the daughter of Maurice W. and Agnes (Werschey) Ault.

She is survived by her sister; Nancy Ault of Bloomington, her extended family; Dana, Trent, Montana, Van and Owen and along with many cousins and friends.

She is preceded by her parents.

Carole was a member and volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Bloomington. She graduated from Bloomington High School Class of 1954 and retired from State Farm Insurance Company in 1989.
