BLOOMINGTON – Catherine Bays, 83, of Bloomington passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 6:04 a.m. at the Bloomington Rehabilitation in Bloomington.
Catherine was born, August 10, 1933, in Saybrook, to Harry and Elsie (Kingsley) Campbell. She married Leo W. Bays in 1949, he passed away in 1994.
Survivors include her two sons; John (Marge) Bays and James (Karen) Bays both of Bloomington. She has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one brother; Harry W. Campbell of Little Rock, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
Catherine Started out as a CNA at Maple Grove Facility and eventually went into private care.
Catherine was a very gentle and caring person, that loved her family very much and enjoyed having her grandkids around her often. She was a truly remarkable person. She will be missed greatly. Per her wishes, Catherine did not want any fuss or ado. She will be quietly buried at Park Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois or the OSF Hospice in her name.
