Lena “Lee” (Chiesa) Milligan, also affectionately known as Rosie, 88 years old, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at her home in Englewood, Fla.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Normal with Rev. Eric Powell officiating with entombment immediately following at East Lawn Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, Ill. with a rosary service at 7 p.m.

Lena was born in Richwood, Ohio on Oct. 11, 1928 to her loving parents, Fred and Miranda Chiesa. They preceded her in death. She married her high school sweetheart, Bob Milligan, in 1949. He passed away in 1992.

Lee was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and friend. She was selfless and giving and gave her family the precious gift of Faith in God. She will be greatly missed by her six children: Dan (Susie), Mike (Karen), and Steve (Mary), all of Bloomington, Sue (Ray) of Gurnee, Illinois, Bob (Kim) of Weston, Florida and Laura of Englewood, Florida. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, her sister Carol (Bob) Wisler of Bryan, Ohio and her sister-in-law, Betty Rizor of Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann.

Lee was an accomplished musician. She played and taught the piano, organ and accordion.

Lee was always a great listener and helped many by sharing her Faith, strength, sense of humor, and beautiful smile with everyone she met.

Lee always lived by her motto: “I am never unhappy until I think of myself.”
