Leroy Sohn
Leroy C. “Roy” Sohn, 82, Fairbury and formerly of Joliet and Lombard died at 1:56 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury officiating. Burial will be in the South Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Fairbury.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday also at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Mr. Sohn was born Feb. 19, 1935 in Forrest the son of Carl and Lydia Hari Sohn. He married Elaine Minnec on Jan. 2, 1972 in Lombard. She preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2016.
Survivors include their children, David (Staci) Sohn, Clarksville, Tenn.; Jessica Bebar, Naperville, Ill.; Jeremy (Shae) Sohn, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; ten grandchildren and one sister, Lucille Sohn, Fairbury.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Harry Sohn.
Mr. Sohn served in the United States Army and was a member of the Joliet Church of Christ.
