Norma FrischmannNorma Frischmann

Norma J. Frischmann, 95 of Bloomington, Ill., passed away on Sept. 27, 2017 at 9:25 a.m. at Luther Oaks, Bloomington.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington with Pastor Christine McNeal officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Community Cancer Center or Compassus Hospice.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Norma was born on April 5, 1922 in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of John Willard and Margaret Lenore (Richardson) Jamerson. She married Donald W. Frischmann on Aug. 16, 1947 in Danville, Virg. He preceded her death in July 1997.

She is survived by her daughters; Karen Leigh (Richard) Keller of Forest City, Iowa and Kathryn Anne (Murray) Payne of Bloomington, grandchildren; Laura Keller, Jeff (Laura) Havens, Jennifer (Mark) Jenkins, Adam (Katie) Havens, Matt (Megan) Havens and David (Delaram) Keller and great grandchildren; Jonathan, Bryan and Megan Schmidt, Dylan, Carter and Ellie Jenkins, Eva Keller, Emersyn, Avery, Samantha and Adrian Havens.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother.

Norma was a teacher at the Washington Lee High School in Arlington, Virg. until her children were born and then spent her time as a loving mother and wife taking care of her family.

Norma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. John’s Womens Organization, P.E.O., Dozen Book Club, bridge clubs and Bloomington Country Club and volunteered at BroMenn Service Auxiliary and Manor Care Nursing Home. She enjoyed taking part in church activities, reading, golf, singing in the church choir and for weddings, traveling, bridge, cooking and most of all spending time with her family.

Thomas WhitfillThomas Whitfill

Thomas A. Whitfill, 62, Fairbury, died at 12:23 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 at his residence, Fairbury.

A private graveside service will be held at Forrest Twp. Cemetery at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to St. Andrew Catholic Church Building Fund, Fairbury or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Tom was born September 19, 1955 in Joliet, Ill. the son of Gerald B. and Helen Whitfill Meyer. He married Becky Rathbun on August 17, 1974 in Fairbury. She survives in Fairbury.

Also surviving is one son, Jason (Jennifer) Whitfill; one daughter, Kelly (Willy) Sisco; his mother, Helen Meyer, all of Fairbury; five grandchildren, Lyndon, Lucy and Lane Whitfill, Braydon and Brenna Sisco; two brothers, Brent (Chris) Meyer, Machesney Park and Todd Meyer, Fairbury.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Tom was a 1973 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and worked as an over the road truck driver for many years.

He was a family man and loved them unconditionally.
