Obituaries: Cashmer, Rutledge

Margaret Cashmer

Margaret “Jane” Cashmer, 73, of Cornell, IL passed away at 10:51 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Pontiac with Pastor Dan Leonard and Jessica Ulrich officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Pontiac, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the family.

Jane was born September 27, 1944 in Batavia, IL a daughter of Kenneth and Thelma (Holmes) Barry. She married Clifford Cashmer, Jr. on June 16, 1962 in Streator, IL. He passed away on July 24, 1997.

She is survived by her children: David (Angie) Cashmer of Minonk, IL, Susan (Tim) Ulrich of Flanagan, IL, Jennifer Cashmer of Pontiac, IL, and Patricia Eden of Cornell, IL; her grandchildren: Chelsey Cashmer, Malorie Cashmer, Chad Ulrich, Brandon (Crystal) Ulrich, Joshua (Kayla) Ulrich, Jessica Ulrich, and Julia Cashmer; great grandchildren: Haidyn, Spencer, Gracie, Gunner is on-the-way, and Shane; her siblings: Kenneth (Nancy) Barry, Mike Barry, Charol (John) Hall, Charlotte Wheeler, Shelly Wade, Colleen (Jim) Poulaki, Nancy Barry, and Donald Barry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters: Evelyn Robinson and Eileen Hickenbottom.

Jane grew up in the Streator area. She was a member of the Streator Moose. She enjoyed playing cards every week with her siblings, tending to her flowers, decorating for every occasion or holiday, and going to garage sales as she called it “junking”, always looking for a good bargain for someone. She loved spending time with her family they were the most important thing to her. She will be greatly missed.

Sue Rutledge

Sue Rutledge, 61, of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 9:36 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be held for Sue on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. Following the visitation cremation rites will be accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family requests memorials to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sue was born on January 23, 1956 in Bloomington, the daughter of Herlon K. and Betty J. (Greene) Lyle.

She is survived by her children; Erik P. (Jaci) Rutledge of Heyworth and Jana M. Rutledge of Bloomington, their father; Paul Rutledge of Bloomington, two grandchildren; Alexis and Lucas Rutledge, sisters and brother; Jean Lyle and Judy Lyle, both of Bloomington and Richard (Janet) Lyle of Brookfield, WI, and her beloved dog “Otis”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister; Cheryl Tucker, and a niece; Julie McKee.

She worked at Verizon retiring after 22 years. Sue enjoyed going to concerts, traveling, and going on cruises. She loved making her own greeting cards and was an avid collector of anything to do with penguins. Most of all she loved and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of them.
