Keith McClure
Keith McClure, 87 of Normal, formerly of Colfax, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at the Heritage Health Care, Normal.
Keith’s service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. A private family burial will be held following the service. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
Keith was born on Oct. 25, 1930 in Gridley, Ill. the son of Alvin Jack and Lorene (Shomaker) McClure. He married Lynda Charleton on Feb. 25, 1975 in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on Oct. 13, 2008.
Keith is survived by his sons; Kery Keith (Karon) McClure of Oceanside, Calif. and Dana Mark (Naomi) McClure of Valencia, Calif., step children; Peter Arteman of Bloomington, Julie (Matthew) Groppi of Danville and Michael Arteman of Bloomington. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Lyndsay Menken, Lauren Groppi, Shelly McClure, Sara LaClaire, Joel Mitchell, Michael (Marinna) Mitchell and Emily Mitchell, 13 great grandchildren and 1 sister; Claudine (Bill) Deterding of Normal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son; Matt McClure, one step daughter; Tami Arteman a grandson; Scott Kery McClure, four brothers and three sisters.
He was a 1949 graduate of Danvers High School. Keith owned and operated Keith McClure and Sons Tree Service, he farmed in the Colfax area and was an avid antique collector and dealer in which he owned and operated McClure Antiques in Colfax, IL and Louisiana, MO. He also owned and operated a field and drainage tile business and enjoyed wood working.
He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
