He was born Oct. 10, 1985 in Normal, the son of Tony Mark Mellor and Jerri Lynn Andrew. He married Sarah Kelch Mellor on Nov. 11, 2013 in Bloomington. She survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Jerri Andrew of Germantown, Md., his father, Tony (Margaret) Mellor of Bloomington, a sister, Toni (John) Popovich of Colfax, a brother, Matthew Mellor (Marci Brown) of Austin, Tex.; grandparents, Karen and John Andrew of Bloomington, Kathy and Ray Merrill of Havana, Kitty Ross-Mellor of Bloomington and a great grandmother, Theresa Andrew of Normal. He also leaves a large extended family and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Tim Mellor and Robert and Carolyn Busick.
Mark loved nature, fishing, hunting, plants, and wildlife. He had a connection with nature that was extraordinary. Everyone who knew and loved him understood that he was much more suited to life in an earlier time. He would have been very happy living on the frontier, toiling to survive as one with nature. His primary focus in life was to travel to the untamed places of the world and then to return home to spend his time with family on the banks of the Mackinaw River.
