Obituaries: Bohm, Rogers

Randall Bohm

PONTIAC – Randall J. Bohm, 63, of Pontiac, passed away at 9:25am, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, surrounded by his family.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions left in Randy’s name may be directed to Family’s choice or Fairbury American Legion Speedway, Fairbury, in honor of “The Bohm Squad.”

Randy was born September 24, 1953 in Pontiac; a son to Dale and Mardell (Schweizer) Bohm.  He married Rachel Rhoda Ifft on September 17, 2016 in Chenoa. His wife Rachel survives in Chenoa.

Also surviving are his daughter, Amy Bohm Newlin of Flanagan; four step children, Brittany Ifft of Bloomington; Chelsie (Jordan) Spisok of Fairbury; Trevor Ifft of Fairbury; and Tanner Ifft of Chenoa; three brothers, Rick Bohm of Aurora, CO; Rod (Sherry) Bohm of Marengo; and Robin (Kristi) Bohm of Pontiac; two grandchildren, Kasey (Emily) Newlin of Hutsonville; Blake Newlin of Edwardsville; and two step-grandchildren, Kellan and Lilly Spisok of Fairbury; and one great grandchild, Kinley Newlin of Hutsonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ronald “Mushy” Bohm in April of 2016.

Randy attended Pontiac schools and was employed as a Union Iron Worker for Vissering Construction, Streator; retiring in 2013.  Randy fought a short but courageous battle with cancer.  “Bohmer” loved racing, especially Late Model dirt track racing and NASCAR.  His walk could be spotted for a mile and his tough exterior protected a selfless heart of gold that would help anyone in need.

Ronnie Rogers

BLOOMINGTON –  Ronnie D. Rogers, 66 of McLean, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:12am at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Illinois.

A private family celebration of life was held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington with Pastor Mike Abel officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta United Methodist Church or Mid-West Food Bank.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ronnie was born on September 26, 1950 in New Madrid, Missouri. He is the son of Jesse Olan and Lila Venona (Jones) Rogers. He married Candice Vaughn on June 8, 1973 in Decatur, Illinois.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Candie, his children; Heather Rogers of Atlanta and Kyle (Sarah) Rogers of Bloomington, grandchildren; Brandon, Isabelle, Benjamin, Noah, Cohen and Jacob, his brother and sisters; Bob (Lynn) Rogers of Atlanta, IL, Betty (Roger) Garland of Danville, IL, Beverly (Jeff) Gardner of Mt Sterling, IL, Brenda Abbott of Shelbyville, IL, Priscilla Harris of Atlanta, IL and Tina (Randy) Bridges of Atlanta, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Ronnie graduated with honors from Nokomis High School. He worked and retired from Mitsubishi and was a member of the Bloomington UAW Local 2488.

Ronnie loved fishing, gardening, his dog “Monte” and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all of them.
