Obituaries: Stehle, Winterland

Lois Stehle

Lois Clarene Stehle, 87, of Forrest, passed away at 5:07 a.m., November 2, 2017, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

Burial will be in Forrest Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, November 5, 2017 also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family or donor’s choice of charity.

Lois was born December 8, 1929, in Cullom the daughter of Lloyd and Velma Stults Blackmore.

She married Ernest Joseph Stehle on December 10, 1947. He died February 17, 2005.

Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Bellot of Forrest; son Joe Stehle of Chatsworth; daughter-in-law, Donna Stehle of Pontiac; sister Illa Mae Paternoster of Bloomington; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Lloyd Stehle, and grandson, Cory Bellot.

Lois worked for 20 years Zimmerman True Value Hardware, six years for Hammer True Value and Ben Franklin. She also worked three years for Jamie’s Grocery Store, Forrest.

DeLanie Winterland

DeLaine G. Winterland, 74, of Cropsey passed away at 3:28 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with Pastor Corrine Blissard officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would like that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

DeLaine was born May 4, 1943 in Fairbury the son of Arnold and Grace (Sheppleman) Winterland. He married Chistiane Lacombe on August 13, 1964 in Poitiers, France.

Survivors include his wife, Christiane “Christie” Winterland of Cropsey; one son, Gary Winterland of Cropsey; one daughter, ELaine Winterland of Washington, DC; and one grandson, DeLaine Maurice Winterland of Washington, DC.

DeLaine served our country in the US Army and Army National Guard. He was a 1961 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and was employed at GTE in Bloomington for over 30 years. DeLaine also volunteered for many years in the Cropsey Fire Dept.
