Obituaries: Stehle, Wessels

Jeffrey Stehle

Jeffrey L. Stehle, 42, Forrest, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the intersection of Route 47 and 1500 North Road, Saunemin Twp., Livingston County.

Jeff was born January 4, 1976 in Fairbury the son of Lloyd and Donna Babbs Stehle.

Survivors include his mother, Donna (Don Colvin) Stehle, Pontiac; one brother, Steven (Misty) Stehle, Chapmansboro, TN; one sister, Connie Friedman, Forrest and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jeff had been employed in the meat department at Dave’s Super Market, Fairbury for 17 years. He was an avid race fan and cat lover.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Corrine Blissard officiating.  Burial will be in Forrest Twp. Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday also at the memorial home. Casual race attire is welcomed.  The family suggests memorials be given to the family of Jeffrey Stehle.

Roger Wessels

Roger W. Wessels, 77, of Fairbury passed away at 4 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury; with Pastor Dan Robertson officiating.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Good Samaritan Home, 1225 S Ewing Dr.. Pontiac, IL 61764.

Roger was born December 30, 1940 in Fairbury; the only son of Alfred and Bertha (Downs) Wessels. He grew up on the family farm in Fairbury.  His parents preceded him in death.

He is survived by many cousins on both sides of the Wessels and Downs families, his caregivers; Dale Wessels, John Haley, Judith Lawless Pulido, Erika Hepner and their families.  Roger also leaves behind his unconditionally loving family of 7 years at Good Samaritan Home in Pontiac.

Roger was a lifelong farmer and he had a special ability to engineer and fabricate most anything to suit his needs. He had a passion for steam engines, past farming practices and raising Shire Horses.

Roger was a member of American Shire Horse Association, American Corn Growers Association, The Chicago Farmers Association and Old Threshers of Mt. Pleasant, IA.
